The Poodle breed comes in 3 sizes and is one of the worlds most popular breeds. Although it is the national dog of France, poodles are believed to have originated in Germany to hunt ducks. The Toy Poodle was often used in performances and circuses.

The Toy Poodle would be a good fit for owners looking for dogs who are intelligent, lively, sensitive, loyal and alert. They are eager-to-please, highly trainable "real dogs." They like to work closely with their humans and can master all kinds of tricks and dog sports. Some tend to be high-strung. Moderate exercise is beneficial for toy poodles although they adapt very well in apartments. Generally this breed gets along well with other pets. However, they can be shy around strangers and will snap and bark if startled.
